Chili
Chili is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 1/2 lb. ground chuck hamburger, 2 c. chopped onions, 2 cloves garlic, pressed, 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves and 1 tsp. dried basil leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In chili kettle, over medium heat, sautΓ© beef, stirring occasionally, until red color disappears.
Keep ground beef in small chunks.
Add onions, green pepper, garlic, chili powder, oregano, basil, red pepper and cumin; mix well.
Cook, stirring, until onions and green pepper are tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in sugar, salt, tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste.
Bring to boiling, breaking up tomatoes with a fork.
Simmer slowly covered, stirring occasionally until thick and flavors are blended, about 40 minutes.
Add beans; simmer, covered, 10 minutes or until hot.
Makes 12 to 16 servings.
