Chicken Paprika
Chicken Paprika is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 lb. frying chicken, 1 1/2 tbsp. butter, 1 1/2 tbsp. lard, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 c. chopped onions, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cut up the chicken for frying.
In a heavy pot or electric skillet, melt butter and lard.
Add onions and simmer until brown. Add salt, paprika and vegetable stock.
When the ingredients are boiling, add the chicken.
Simmer, covered, until chicken is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
Stir the flour into the sour cream. Stir it slowly into the chicken and cook, do not boil, about 5 minutes longer.
