Chicken and Wild Rice
Chicken And Wild Rice is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (2 to 3 lb.) fryer (for 1 1/2 lb. meat), 3 c. chicken broth or milk, 2 small cans mushrooms, sliced, 1 c. chopped onions and 1 c. margarine or butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Boil and debone 2 to 3 pound fryer.
Chop meat.
Set aside. Cook 1 box wild rice.
Set aside.
In skillet or Dutch oven, melt 1 cup margarine (may be reduced some).
Add 1/2 cup flour.
Add 3 cups broth (or milk) slowly with mushrooms, onions and chicken. Mix well.
Add rice.
Mix well.
Pour into buttered casserole dish.
Cook 30 to 40 minutes at 350Β°.
