Chewy Turtle Cake
Chewy Turtle Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 tbsp. boiling water, 3/4 c. sugar, 2 egg yolks, 1 c. softasilk cake flour and 1/8 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Pour boiling water on chocolate, stirring until melted.
Cool. Grease and flour rectangular pan, 12 x 9 x 2-inch.
Beat sugar and margarine until fluffy.
Beat in egg yolks, one at a time.
Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla at low speed.
Mix in flour and baking soda and salt alternately with buttermilk, beating after each addition until batter is smooth.
Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter.
Pour into pan.
Bake about 20 minutes at 350Β° or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
