Cherry Nut Cake
Cherry Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. dates, chopped, 1 lb. pecans or walnuts (4 c.), 1/2 lb. red and green cherries, 1/2 lb. red and green pineapple and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Put sugar over the nuts and mix well.
Beat eggs and mix with vanilla.
Sift flour and baking powder.
Mix all together well, using your hands or a good strong wooden spoon to mix.
Grease and flour tube pan well.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300Β°.
Put a pan of water on bottom shelf of oven.
This will help to keep it from turning too brown and drying out.
Let set a few minutes before turning out but don't let it get cold, for it will stick.
