Cream the butter and brown sugar in small bowl.
Add flour, then nuts.
Reserve 3/4 to 1 cup for topping.
Press remainder in an 8 x 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
(If using a glass pan, reduce heat to 325°.)
Blend granulated sugar and cream cheese until smooth.
Add egg, milk, lemon juice and vanilla; beat well.
Spread over baked crust; sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
Bake at 350° for 25 minutes (325° for glass pan).
Cool; cut into 2-inch squares.
