Cheddar Cheese Spoon Bread
Cheddar Cheese Spoon Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. milk, divided, 1 c. yellow cornmeal, 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Heat oven to 325Β°.
Grease 3-quart baking dish lightly. Scald 2 cups milk in 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Add cornmeal gradually; stir until thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir in cheese until melted.
Stir in 1 cup milk, salt, pepper, baking powder and egg yolks.
Beat egg whites until they form soft peaks and fold into mixture.
Pour into pan.
Bake 1 hour or until set. Serves 6 to 8.
