Cecil's Stew
Cecil'S Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. stew meat (1-inch cubes), 1 stick oleo/butter, 1 small bunch celery (2 c.), 1 medium onion and 1 green pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Brown meat in oleo over medium heat.
Cover with water and cook 45 minutes.
Add celery, pepper, carrots and onion.
Cover with water and cook 1 hour.
Add potatoes, cover and cook 1 hour.
Test for seasoning.
Add onion soup and cook 20 minutes.
Add m.s.g. and more water, if needed.
Never cook fast.
Requires 4 hours of cooking on slow or simmer.
Serves 8 to 12.
