Casserole of Butter Beans
Casserole Of Butter Beans is an easy dinner. Made with 2 cans butter beans (seaside), 1/2 lb. bacon, cut fine and browned, reserving 2 1/2 tbsp. drippings in skillet, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 3 or 4 tbsp. brown sugar and 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cook and stir onion, sugar and garlic in drippings until bubbly and caramel looking.
Add beans and bacon; place into casserole in a low temperature oven, 325Β°, and bake 1 1/2 hours. (May need to add a tablespoon or two of water.)
