Caramel Nut Frosting
Caramel Nut Frosting is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. water, 1/4 c. white sugar, 2 egg whites and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Boil sugar and water until it forms threads.
Pour gradually while beating in beaten egg whites.
Continue beating until nearly cool.
Place pan over hot water and cook white stirring constantly until mixture becomes granular around the edge of the pan.
Remove from pan of water and beat well until it will hold shape.
Add nuts and vanilla.
Pour on cake; spread leaving a rough surface.
