Caramel Cluster
Caramel Cluster is an easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. margarine or butter, 1 c. sugar and 4 c. kix cereal, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat margarine in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat until melted.
Stir in sugar.
Stir frequently with wooden spoon, 4 to 5 minutes while mixture melts and begins to turn a golden color. Continue cooking 1 to 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
(Do not overcook; mixture will go from granular to smooth and margarine and sugar may begin to separate.)
Remove from heat.
Quickly add cereal and mix until coated; immediately spread on cookie sheet. Cool.
Break into bite-size pieces.
