Cape Cod Pasta Strudel (Lasagna)
Cape Cod Pasta Strudel (Lasagna) is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. sweet or hot italian sausage (5 links), 1/2 lb. ground beef, 1/2 c. finely chopped onion, 2 cloves garlic, crushed and 2 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Peel sausage and cut up into large saucepan.
Brown sausage and beef together; add onion and garlic.
Stir until well browned. Add sugar, salt, basil, fennel seed, pepper and half of parsley. Mix and add tomatoes, tomato paste (mash up) and 1/2 cup water. Bring to boil and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring a bit.
