Made with 1 large head cabbage, shredded (approximately 12 c.), 1 onion, chopped, 6 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup and 8 oz. processed american cheese, cubed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Cook cabbage in boiling salted water; drain.

In a large skillet, saute onion in 5 tablespoons butter; add soup and mix. Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.

Remove from heat; stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.

Transfer to 2-quart baking dish.

Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in skillet; stir in bread crumbs until lightly browned.

Sprinkle over cabbage mixture.

Bake uncovered at 350Β° for 20 to 30 minutes.
