Chop the cabbage and onion.

Cook in boiling water (to cover) until almost tender; drain.

Grate the cheese and add to cabbage and onion.

Whip together the egg and evaporated milk.

Add to cabbage, onion and cheese.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Grease a 2-quart casserole dish with a stick of margarine; save the remainder.

Pour cabbage mixture into a greased dish; dot top with margarine.

Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.

Serves 8.
