Buttermilk Pound Cake

Cream sugar, Crisco and butter.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift flour, salt and soda.
Add to creamed mixture with buttermilk.
Add flavoring and beat at medium speed for at least 8 to 10 minutes.
Grease and flour tube pan.
Pour in batter and bake at 350Β° for 1 hour or until done. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out.
