Bread & Butter Pickles
Bread & Butter Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 gal. sliced cucumbers, 3 onions, 1/2 c. salt, 5 c. vinegar and 5 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Take the sliced Cucumbers, Onions and Salt and soak for 4 hours in water.
Drain.
Prepare the Vinegar, Sugar, Ground Cloves, Turmeric, Celery Seed and Mustard Seed.
Heat the solution, place Cucumbers and Onions in it, bring to a boil.
Turn heat to simmer for about 20-30 minutes; they will lose their green look.
Pack hot in jars and seal.
Boil flats a few minutes before serving.
Makes 7-8 pints.
