Put cucumbers and onions in large kettle.
Cover with 1/2 cup salt and then with crushed ice.
Let stand 3 hours. Drain. Mix and remaining ingredients.
Bring to boil, but do not boil.
Add cucumber and onions.
Place at once in hot sterilized jars and seal.
Makes 8 pints.
