Brazil Nut Cookies
Brazil Nut Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, well beaten, 2 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening; add sugar and cream well.
Stir in beaten egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
Stir together flour and salt and cut into creamed mixture with knives or pastry blender. Stir in nuts; shape into small balls (2/3-inch in diameter); place on baking sheet and bake in a 350Β° oven for 20 minutes.
Cool slightly on baking sheet and roll in sifted powdered sugar.
Store in loosely covered container.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
