Brandy Fruit and Nut Cake
Brandy Fruit And Nut Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. chopped walnuts (english), 1 1/2 c. raisins, 3/4 c. flour, 3/4 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine fruit and nuts.
Mix well.
Mix dry ingredients well. Add to fruit and nuts; coat well.
Beat eggs until frothy; add brandy.
Add to mixture; mix well.
Pour batter into 9 x 15-inch tube pan that has been greased and floured.
Bake at 300Β° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Cool in pan; remove from pan; wrap in cloth that has been dampened with 1/4 tablespoon brandy.
Wrap in foil; place in refrigerator a couple of days.
Unwrap; dampen cloth with water, no more brandy.
Rewrap and set in refrigerator at least a week.
Very very good.
