Braised Red Cabbage
Braised Red Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large head red cabbage (about 3 lb.), 1/4 c. margarine, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 c. cider vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cut cabbage in half.
Wash and drain, then core and shred. Melt margarine in a heavy type kettle on low heat.
Add shredded cabbage and saute for five minutes.
Add sugar, salt, vinegar and water.
Toss until mixed.
Cook 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
