Bow Tie Italian Casserole
Bow Tie Italian Casserole is an impressive dinner. Made with 6 to 8 oz. bow tie pasta, 1 lb. ground beef, 1 (15 oz.) can pizza sauce, 1 small can mushrooms, drained and 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. sliced pepperoni (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cook bow tie pasta; drain and set aside.
Cook ground beef; drain off fat.
To ground beef, add Italian seasoning, pizza sauce, onion and mushrooms.
In another bowl, add egg and cottage cheese.
In a 12 x 9-inch baking pan, layer 1/2 of the pasta, spoon 1/2 of cottage cheese mixture.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of Parmesan cheese.
Layer pepperoni slices (optional).
Place 1/2 of meat mixture.
Next, add 1/2 of Mozzarella and 1/2 of Monterey Jack cheese.
Repeat pasta, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, pepperoni and meat mixture.
Top with remainder of Mozzarella and Monterey Jack.
Finish top with 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake, covered, at 425Β° for 15 minutes; uncover and bake 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through. Serve with favorite salad and hot bread.
