Sift flour, soda and salt into mixing bowl.
Add wheat germ and cracker crumbs; mix well.
Beat together eggs, oil, molasses and buttermilk; add to dry ingredients.
Stir until well blended, turn into well greased and floured tall (1 pound) coffee cans.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 50 to 55 minutes; cool on rack.
Carefully run knife around base of can.
Turn out of can.
Serve warm with butter or creamed cheese.
