Boh puniaram are small Acehnese-style fried cakes with banana, rice flour, palm sugar, and coconut. They cook up deeply golden with soft centers and caramel edges, making them a festive snack that is best served warm on banana leaf.

Mash bananas with palm sugar, coconut milk, grated coconut, and salt.
Stir in rice flour and all-purpose flour to make a thick spoonable batter.
Heat a paniyaram pan or shallow oil and cook small rounds until browned on both sides.
Drain briefly and serve warm with extra coconut.
