Blackberry Cobbler

Wash berries.
Add sugar and enough water to cover berries. Bring to boil.
Mix shortening and flour until mealy.
Add enough water to make like biscuit dough.
Roll out thin; cut in strips about 1 inch.
Drop several strips in boiling berries.
Cook about 5 minutes.
Pour into a 9 x 12-inch baking dish.
Put remaining strips crisscross on top.
Put a little sugar and a little butter on top.
Bake at 375Β° until crust is brown.
