Black Walnut Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 6 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 well beaten egg yolks (save whites for meringue) and 2 c. milk or milnot, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Sift together sugar, flour and salt.
Blend in milk and egg yolks.
Cook in double boiler until thickened.
Cool before adding walnut meats, vanilla and butter.
Pour into 9-inch baked crust. Bake in a 450° oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325° for 30 minutes.
Top with meringue and brown.
