Preheat oven to 275Β°.

Mix crushed chocolate wafers and margarine.

Press into a 10-inch pan; bake for 10 minutes.

Cool. Make custard of egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar, flour and milk.

Cook in double boiler until thick.

Melt chocolate.

Add 1 1/2 cups custard and 1 teaspoon vanilla; spread over chocolate crust.

Add gelatin, dissolved in cool water, to remaining warm custard.

Beat egg whites.

Add 1/2 cup sugar and cream of tartar.

Fold whites into custard.

Add the sherry.

Spread over black bottom.

Chill. Top with whipped cream and grated chocolate.
