Soak overnight.
Chop onion and green pepper in small pieces and saute in bacon grease.
Bring beans to boil and add all other ingredients; let simmer for several hours.
When just about done, add salt and pepper.
When done mash through several potato masher to thicken juice.
If too thick, a little hot water.
Cook about 2 cups of rice for listed amount.
Chop white onion to put over top.
