Sift flour; measure and add baking powder.
Cream shortening; add sugar gradually.
Add unbeaten eggs, 1 at a time.
Add orange rind.

Do not beat. Bake 8-inch layers 25 minutes at 375°; cupcakes for 15 minutes at 375°; loaf cake at 350° for 1 hour.
Frost when cool with orange frosting.
