Best Pound Cake
Best Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 3 c. flour, 5 eggs, 2 sticks butter, softened and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Grease and flour bottom of tube pan.
Cream shortening and butter.
Add sugar and cream together.
Add eggs one at a time while mixing.
Stir baking powder into flour.
Add to mixture, one cup at a time, alternating with milk.
When well blended, add lemon juice and vanilla.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
DO NOT OPEN OVEN WHILE BAKING.
Cool in pan on rack for 15 minutes.
Run knife around side of pan to loosen, then turn out on rack to cool.
