Bean Soup
Bean Soup is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 bag pea beans, 1 tbsp. baking soda, 1/4 lb. bacon pieces, 16 oz. can tomatoes and 1/3 c. diced carrots, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Add pea beans into large kettle.
Add 1 gallon water and bring to a boil.
Add 1 tablespoon baking soda and bring to boil.
Drain and rinse with water.
Put beans into large kettle and add bacon, tomatoes, carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, pepper and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender.
Add cornstarch and flour to water.
Mix until smooth.
Add to soup until thickened to desired consistency.
