Dissolve dry yeast in lukewarm water according to directions on package.

Add milk, which has been cooled to lukewarm, sugar and salt.

Allow to stand 5 minutes.

Add butter or margarine and egg; mix well.

Stir in flour and beat with spoon until dough forms a ball and follows spoon around the bowl.

Brush top of dough with melted butter.

Cover with wax paper or towel.

Let rise to double in bulk.

Turn out on floured board and knead.

Shape or cut; let rise in biscuit pan.

Bake at 400Β° for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
