Basic Pie Crust
Basic Pie Crust is an easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 c. shortening (crisco), 1/8 tsp. salt and 5 to 7 tbsp. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cut shortening into flour.
Add salt.
Thoroughly mix with fingertips.
Stir in water, one tablespoon at a time, until soft, but not sticky.
Roll half of the dough 1/8-inch thick.
Place in bottom of 9-inch pie plate.
Roll out second half and place on top of pie.
Makes 9-inch double crust.
