Basic Bread Pudding
Basic Bread Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. milk, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, 3 slices bread or more, 2 eggs and 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Scald milk and butter in top of double boiler over boiling water.
Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes.
Add to milk.
Cover and remove from heat.
Beat eggs until frothy; add sugar and salt. Stir hot milk and bread into egg mixture.
Add nutmeg and vanilla, mixing well.
Pour into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole or baking dish, placed in pan of hot water.
Bake in moderate oven at 350Β° about 1 hour or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
