Banana Pudding
Banana Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 egg yolks (save whites for meringue), 3 c. sweet milk, 3 heaping tbsp. flour and 4 large bananas, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix together sugar and flour.
Next, mix yolks and milk.
Then combine the sugar and flour mixture and the yolk and milk mixture. Cook in double boiler, stirring often, until thick.
While mixture is cooking, arrange in a large bowl layers of bananas and vanilla wafers.
Pour mixture over this.
Beat egg whites, pinch of cream of tartar and 3 heaping teaspoonfuls of sugar.
Spread over contents in bowl and brown in oven.
