Baked Chow Suey
Baked Chow Suey is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. raw rice, 2 c. boiling water, 1 lb. ground chuck, 1 c. chopped celery with leaves and 1 can drained water chestnuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Place rice in boiling water and set aside.
In separate pan, cook meat, onion and celery until browned.
Drain fat.
Strain rice.
In a 3-quart casserole dish, place rice, meat mixture and all other ingredients, except almonds.
Mix well.
Bake, covered, at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
Top with almonds and bake for 15 minutes more.
