Baked Apples
Baked Apples is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 medium cooking apples, 1/2 c. raisins, snipped pitted whole dates or mixed dried fruit bits, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Core apples; peel a strip from the top of each.
Place apples in 2-quart casserole.
Combine the raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Spoon into center of apples.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender, basting occasionally with the cooking liquid.
Serve warm with ice cream, light cream or yogurt, if desired.
