Backpack Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, softened, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cream butter in a large bowl; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Fold in oats and remaining ingredients.
Bake at 350Β° for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
Transfer cookies to wire racks and let cool completely.
