Aunt Mattie's Refrigerator Rolls
Aunt Mattie'S Refrigerator Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 yeast cake, 1/3 c. shortening, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 1 beaten egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Scald 1 cup water; add sugar, salt and shortening.
Stir and cool to lukewarm.
Use large bowl sprayed with Pam.
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup tepid water.
Begin adding flour into cooled water, shortening, sugar and salt mixture.
Add egg and yeast water as flour mixture gets too stiff.
Add flour until mixture begins to leave the bowl.
Place bowl in the refrigerator.
One hour before cooking time, pinch off the amount of rolls you plan to cook; make them out and place them on a baking sheet.
Let rise for 1 hour and bake at 450Β° until brown.
