Apricot Almond Bread

Preheat oven to 350°.
Chop apricots finely.
Add water, butter, sugar and salt and mix.
In separate bowl, sift together the pastry flour and baking soda.
Add to apricot mixture, then add whole wheat flour, almonds, egg and orange extract.
Stir well and put into buttered 9 x 5-inch loaf tin.
Bake 1 1/4 hours at 350°.
Makes 1 loaf.
