Applesauce Fruit Cake
Applesauce Fruit Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. chopped dates, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. figs, chopped and 2 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cream the butter or margarine.
Add sugar gradually with spices.
Cream until light. Sift flour, salt and soda.
Dredge fruit in 1/2 cup flour. Beat eggs until light. Add alternately with remaining flour, stirring until well blended. Stir in dredged fruit, nuts and applesauce.
Bake in greased pan in slow oven at 325Β° for about 1 1/2 hours or until done, depending on size of pan.
I use bread pans.
