Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, 5 eggs, 1 lb. raisins and 3 c. cooked apples (dried), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cream shortening, gradually adding sugar.
Beat on medium speed about 8 to 10 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add 1 cup flour sifted with spices.
Mix dried apples with the soda added to them and sweetened with a small amount of sugar.
Stir in raisins (cut up, if preferred). Add pecans and pour in tube pan.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 hour or until done.
