Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 1 (15 oz.) jar applesauce, 1 1/4 c. sugar, 2/3 c. shortening and 1/3 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Have prepared a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, greased and floured. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except raisins and nuts.
Beat at low speed until well mixed, scraping sides of bowl frequently. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.
Add raisins and nuts which have been coated with a bit of flour.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes in 350Β° oven.
Cool on wire rack.
Frost with your favorite caramel icing.
