Applesauce Cake

Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and allspice together.
Add shortening, water and applesauce. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed.
Add eggs and beat.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
Bake in 2 loaf pans, greased and floured, in a 350Β° oven for about 1 hour.
