Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. applesauce, 1/2 c. shortening, 2 c. sugar, 1 egg and 2 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream shortening.
Add sugar gradually.
Add beaten egg and applesauce.
Sift flour before measuring.
Use a little of the same flour to sift over fruit and nuts.
Sift remaining flour with salt and spices.
Dissolve soda in boiling water.
Add the flour mixture to creamed mixture, then add soda and boiling water.
Beat 2 minutes with electric mixer (medium speed).
Stir in nuts and raisins.
Bake in Bundt pan (greased and floured) for 1 hour at 350Β°.
Cool 20 minutes in pan before turning out on plate.
