Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 c. packed brown sugar, 3 tbsp. flour, 3/4 tsp. cinnamon, 9 c. apples, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch thick slices and 1 tbsp. lemon juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Place oven rack in lowest position.
Heat to 425°.
Mix brown sugar, flour and spices in a large bowl.
Add apples and lemon juice.
Toss gently to mix and coat.
Spread on pie crust in pie plate, mounding apples in center.
Put remaining crust over pie and seal edges.
Brush pie with egg.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Slit top of crust for steam to escape.
Bake 20 minutes.
Reduce oven to 375° and bake 20 to 25 minutes longer, until crust is golden brown and fruit is tender.
If topping browns too quickly, drape a piece of foil loosely over pie.
Serve warm.
