Apple Brown Betty
Apple Brown Betty is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. apples, chopped, 2 c. crushed cornflakes, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 lemon (rind and juice) and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Melt butter.
Add crushed cornflakes.
Mix sugar, spices and lemon rind in a separate bowl.
Put 1/4 of crushed flakes in the bottom of a buttered dish, then 1/2 of the apples.
Sprinkle with the sugar and spices.
Add another quarter of the flakes, remainder of the apples, sugar and spices.
Sprinkle lemon juice over this, then the water.
Put the rest of the flakes over top. Cover closely; bake 45 minutes at 375Β°.
Uncover and brown quickly.
