Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, cream applesauce and sugar.
In a separate bowl, mix yogurt and vanilla.
Add egg whites and beat thoroughly.
Add mixture to applesauce and sugar; mix well.
Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Combine dry ingredients; mix until well blended.
Add fruit and nuts; mix well.
Pour into well-greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Yields 1 loaf (16 slices).
