Angela's Favorite White Cake
Angela'S Favorite White Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sifted cake flour, 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder, 3/4 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. crisco and 2 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream together Crisco and almond extract.
Gradually add 1 1/3 cups sugar to shortening and extract.
Cream well.
Add milk alternating with dry ingredients (start and end with flour).
Beat the 5 egg whites and 1/3 cup sugar until peaks form.
Fold into mixture.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 30 minutes for sheet cake.
