Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

Stir in shortening.

Meanwhile, dissolve yeast in warm water.

Add buttermilk and sugar to yeast mixture.

Then add flour.

Mix well and put in the refrigerator in closed bowl.

Turn out on lightly floured board.

If necessary, add more flour to make soft dough. Roll out 1/4-inch thick.

Cut out and bake at 400Β° for 15 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.

Dough may be kept in refrigerator 2 to 3 weeks using only portion needed.

May be used for bread at any meal. Stuff with ham.

You can add raisins, sugar and cinnamon for sweet buns.
