Anadama Bread
Anadama Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. boiling water, 1 c. cornmeal, 2 pkg. dry yeast, 1 c. warm water and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In a large bowl, slowly pour boiling water over cornmeal, stirring continually to avoid lumps.
Let cool 1 hour.
Dissolve yeast in warm water, then add to cornmeal along with other ingredients.
Mix thoroughly, cover and let rise until doubled. Turn out onto a floured board.
Knead 5 minutes, then divide and shape into 2 loaves.
Place in buttered 7 x 4-inch loaf pans and let rise again until doubled.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 minutes.
